FAQ

Whether you're a resident, property manager, or vendor, here are answers to the most common questions about our services and solutions.

Network & Connectivity

What ports are blocked on the anywAIR network?
To protect the network and ensure reliability, we block certain ports including:
  • TCP 25 (SMTP), 135–139, and 445
  • UDP 1900 (SSDP)
If you need to send email, we recommend using port 587.
Does anywAIR support IPv6?
Yes. At supported properties, our managed Wi-Fi and internet infrastructure offer full IPv6 support. Devices connected to our managed Wi-Fi receive addresses via SLAAC, and customer routers receive IPv6 assignments using DHCPv6-PD.
Can I use my own router?
Yes, you can connect your own router. The WAN interface will receive an IPv6 address via SLAAC, and the LAN side will be configured using DHCPv6-PD for local network compatibility.

Vendor & Device Integration

How do vendors connect devices to the network?
We offer two secure options depending on the use case:
  • Public IP:
Ideal for external services or vendor-managed equipment. Vendors receive a direct Ethernet port with public IP addressing. This ensures device accessibility from external networks while bypassing NAT restrictions.
  • Behind NAT:
For simpler integrations, we assign devices to a VLAN and port on our managed switches. These devices reside behind NAT, suitable for internal property use and cloud-managed solutions.
Can I connect my own switch or network gear?
No. Third-party switches are not permitted on the anywAIR network to protect performance and security. If a vendor must use their own switch or controller, they should use the Public IP option and manage their own downstream equipment outside our infrastructure.
